Surprise, Arizona is a small town in the western part of Maricopa County. It quickly spreads out from its “downtown” area to become the fourth largest city in the state by land area. Because of this, it has been called one of America’s Fastest-Growing Cities and might be compared to Phoenix in its rapid development.

What makes Suprise unique, though, is its location: at the edge of the Sonoran Desert. This means that residents and visitors can enjoy both the quiet rural life and all the amenities of a major city. The city also has a rich Native American history, being home to the Hohokam people for centuries before European settlers arrived.

The city is also home to several historical sites, including the Heritage Museum & Cultural Center and Squaw Peak Parkway (a walking path). The latter was named for its proximity to the now-defunct Squaw Peak Gold Mine. Visitors can even enjoy a picnic or barbecue at one of the town’s seven city-maintained grills.

For those who love their history with a dash of mystery, there are plenty of things to do in Suprise that might be considered off the beaten path.

In addition, the city is home to several art galleries, including the Surprise Art Gallery and the West Valley Arts Council. These offer a chance to see and purchase local art, as well as attend workshops and other events. Additionally, Suprise AZ is the home of HVAC specialists like M&R Refrigeration!

No matter what you do in Suprise, the city is a great place to visit. Come enjoy all it has to offer!
