What Are the New SEER2 Standards in Arizona?
As of January 1, 2023, Arizona—part of the Southwest region—has adopted SEER2 ratings, designed to reflect real-world HVAC performance more accurately than older SEER metrics. These new standards affect both residential and commercial HVAC systems:

- Split-System AC (≥45,000 BTU/h): Minimum 13.8 SEER2

- Packaged Units: Minimum 13.4 SEER2
